Woman arrested for attempting to traffic two girls, aged 15 and 16 for prostitution in Libya

The Ogun state police have arrested a suspected human trafficker, Comfort Innocent, and rescued two underaged girls, identified as Blessing Adurotola, 15, and 16-year-old Hasisat Fasasi. According to the command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the 35-year-old suspect was arrested following a complaint by the victims’ mothers. She was arrested while allegedly trying to traffic the girls for prostitution in Libya. The suspect was reported to have confessed to the crime, while explaining that she has been into the business of recruiting young girls for prostitution in connivance with her husband, who resides in Italy. Oyeyemi disclosed that the two victims were rescued in Kaduna by the police. The PPRO said the suspect will be transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, on the order of Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Ajogun.
