The CEO of the popular social media app, Twitter, which is used by millions of people across the world, including Africa has announced their plans to establish a Twitter headquarters in Africa.
Jack Dorsey made this revelation in a tweet where he expressed his gratitude to Nana Akufo Addo, the president of Ghana for making this possible.
He announced that they are actively building a team in Ghana and are glad to spread their reach to Africa.
He added that they chose Ghana because the country’s policies align with the goals of the company.
“As a champion for democracy, Ghana is a supporter of free speech, online freedom, and the Open Internet, of which Twitter is also an advocate.”
Twitter has also announced the job vacancies which are available to Africans.
This is a win win for Ghana and Africa, as this has provided more job opportunities to Ghanaians and other Africans.
The president of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo has thanked Jack Dorsey for choosing and having confidence in Ghana amongst many other African countries there are to have chosen from.
He also stated that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship between Twitter and Ghana.
He also expressed his gratitude towards expanding the tech sector in Ghana through this development.
