Despite his expensive split from his ex-wife recently, he retains his title as the richest man in the world for the 3rd year in a row. Jeff Bezos was born on the 12th of January 1964 in Albuquerque but grew up in Houston, and later Miami. He attended Princeton University and graduated in 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. After graduating from Princeton, he took on several jobs on Wall Street before setting up Amazon in 1994.

Amazon started as an online bookstore before it was expanded to include a wide variety of e-commerce services and products. Today it is the largest online sales company in the world and the largest internet company by revenue. Apart from Amazon, Bezos is also involved in other ventures. He founded Blue Origin in 2000. Blue Origin is an aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company. In 2013, Bezos bought the Washington Post, a major American newspaper for $250 million.

He later became the company’s president from 1978 to 1984.


In 1984, Arnault acquired a luxury goods company called Financiere Agache. He became CEO of the company. Later Arnault took control of a distressed textile company called Boussac Saint-Freres. As a result of this acquisition, Arnault became the owner of Christian Dior and Len Bon Marche, a department store.

In 1988, Arnault formed a holding company with Guinness that held 24% of LVMH’s shares. He has since increased his share hold to 43.5% and also has 35% of the company’s voting rights. Buffet Graduated from the University of Nebraska at the age of 19. He then proceeded to Columbia Business School. He also attended the New York Institute of Finance. After this, he started various business partnerships. In 1956, Buffet created Buffet Partnership Ltd. The firm went on to acquire a textile manufacturing firm called Berkshire Hathaway. The Berkshire Hathaway name was then used to create a diversified holding company.

Since 1970, Buffet has been the Chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway. Berkshire Hathaway owns over 60 companies. Some of the companies owned by Berkshire Hathaway include; Geico, Duracell, and Dairy Queen.
