Insecurity: Allow Nigerians to bear arms to defend themselves – Sagay advises FG Professor Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), has advised President Muhammadu Buhari and Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to allow ordinary Nigerians to bear fire arms in order to protect themselves. According to him, Government should allow anyone who wants to carry arms as a form of self-defense, especially in the villages. “This is necessary so that when these bandits and miscreants attack them, they can see that who they attacked can defend him/herself,” he said. He further advised the Government to lift its restriction ban on owning of arms “We have had cases where bandits attacked villages but the people were powerless to defend themselves. The generality of the public should be allowed to own weapons so that they can have the capacity to defend themselves,” he added.
