How To Borrow Airtime From Mtn
While the borrow airtime service is available to all users on the MTN network, you are required to keep your line active for at least 2 months consecutively before you can borrow airtime. Also, if you have more than N100 airtime balance on your phone account, you cannot borrow airtime. With these two preconditions in mind, here’s how to borrow airtime on the MTN network. The service is known as MTN Xtratime
Simply dial *606# and send. If you are ineligible to use the service at the time, you will immediately get a message telling you that you can’t borrow airtime. If you are eligible, you will be taken to a page showing how much you can borrow as well as a list of options with different airtime amounts and other options like Borrow Data which allows you to borrow data instead of airtime. You will see something like this.

Select the number that corresponds to the amount you wish to borrow or what you want to do. For example, in the scenario painted above, Reply with 1 if you wish to borrow N400 airtime. You will immediately be notified that your request is being processed. You will then get a text telling you that your account has been credited with the requested amount, minus 15% per cent loan fee. The amount borrowed will be deducted on your next recharge till the sum owed is fully paid.
How To Borrow Airtime From 9mobile
In case you are wondering, 9Mobile was formerly known as Etisalat. On the 9Mobile network, borrowing airtime or data is quite simple. All you have to do is dial *665#. If you have a specific amount you wish to borrow in mind, you can dial *665*amount# e.g *665*100#. Your account will be credited with N100 immediately, minus the loan fee which is 15% of the borrowed sum. If you dial *665# and send, you will be presented with two options.

Reply with 1 to proceed to the airtime menu. You will then be presented with a list of options to choose from. You will see something similar to this on your screen.

Reply with any of the numbers that correspond to the amount of airtime you wish to borrow. For example, reply with 3 to borrow N200 airtime. Your account will be immediately credited with N170, the N30 deducted being the service fee.
How To Borrow Airtime From Glo
Indigenous telecoms provider, Glo is also not left out. You can also borrow airtime on the network. Here’s how to borrow airtime on the Glo network.
First, you need to create a 4-digit pin of your choice. This you will do by dialling *321#. Once your 4-digit pin is set up, you can then proceed to borrow airtime.
To borrow airtime on the Glo network, simply dial *321*pin*amount you want to borrow#. For example, if your pin is 1234 and you wish to borrow N200, you will dial *321*1234*200#. Once you send, your account will be credited with the requested sum shortly.
How To Borrow Airtime From Airtel
For those on the Airtel network, borrowing airtime takes just a few steps. All you have to do is dial *500*amount# if you have an amount in mind but if you don’t, just dial *500# and you will be presented with a list of options to choose from.
