General overseer sacks pastor over low turnout.

General overseer of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has sacked his one of his pastors who presides over a church in Benue state over poor growth in the church.

The pastor identified as Peter Godwin explained that he was appointed as a pastor in August 2020 and he received the sack letter on July 1, 2021, and when he asked the reason for the sack letter, he was told that it was due to the low turnout in his church, and the church should never operate at a loss.
He added that he was told that the money generated in the church should be enough to cater for his welfare and accommodation. So as a result of low income, he is hereby dismissed.

He added that he was sacked with forty other pastors in other stations.

Nigerians have given their various opinions on this matter. Some have stated that the letter wasn’t referring to monetary growth but growth of the church disciples.
Others have called out Bishop Oyedepo for allegedly turning his church into a business outlet.
