The federal government has summoned the Academic Staff Union of Universities to an emergency meeting in order to nip an impending strike in the bud.
ASUU has been threatening to go on a fresh strike ever since the nine-month old strike was called off in December, 2020.
This strike slowed down the pace of the educational system which had caused students across the nation to get extra years in their various federal universities of study.
In order to not have another situation of strike, the federal government has called for an emergency meeting. This is in order to liaise with the union and have a dialogue as to how their demands would be met and evade the strike that would leave millions of students clueless.
The meeting is set to hold today, April 6, 2021.
Nigerians look forward to the outcome of the meeting and hope for the best, as they have already wasted important times of their lives at home due to the regular strikes by this body.
