Following the sack of Fulani herdsmen from Ibarapa, Oyo state led by Sunday Igboho, and the unfortunate incident of his house getting razed down, Amotekun in Oyo state have arrested a truck transporting quite a large number of herdsmen with the number plate, TUR30ZY. This truck is registered with Kebbi state.
The Amotekun officials recovered a total of 25 guns and 10 dogs in the truck alongside the suspects.
The members of the Western Security Network have handed the men over to the police at Igangan, Ibarapa.
Earlier on Friday, angry youths had invaded the Seriki Fulani’s settlement after violence erupted in Igangan, Ibarapa. They burnt down the houses and properties belonging to the Seriki. Eleven vehicles and houses were razed down in the process. The Seriki Fulani fled with his family.
Sunday Igboho on Sunday narrated how one of the herdsmen shot at him, but he wasn’t hurt.
The Oyo state commissioner of police, Ngozi Onadeko has promised to look into the case of arson that happened at Sunday Igboho’s house and see to it that the insecurity in Oyo state is totally eradicated.
