Biography Of Bobrisky
Bobrisky was born in the year 1992 in Ebute Metta, Lagos. She is an indigene of Ogun state, a sister state of Lagos.
Bobrisky grew up in a polygamous Muslim family as her father has three wives. She is the youngest child. As a child, Bobrisky was beaten severally by her mother for her feminine inclinations and she went as far as hiring hooligans to deal with her one time.
This was not enough to deter Bobrisky. She attended King’s College for secondary education before earning a degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). What many people are not aware of is that Bobrisky is an entrepreneur.
At the age of 16, she began to fend for herself. This was how she started to hone her entrepreneurship skills. Upon gaining admission into Unilag, Bobrisky saw an opportunity to further enhance her entrepreneur side. So she set about raising finds for her business.
This was her marketing strategy and also marked the beginning of her transformation into Nigeria’s own male Barbie.
This she achieved by teaching people dance steps for a fee as she was once as choreographer. Bobrisky is a power dresser and is always well dressed. This informed her decision to go into buying and selling of clothes.
Female clothing were the bomb so she devised a means of attracting this market. Bobrisky would apply modest facial makeup and adorn female clothes while still at the university.
Later she was honored with the title of Best Dressed Male at her faculty and the University of Lagos and she soon became the star of the campus. Indeed, a star was born!
Bobrisky And Snapchat
Upon graduating from Unilag, Bobrisky had to devise a means of widening her reach and attracting more customers to her business.
Then came Snapchat, and the two were a perfect match. Bobrisky took advantage of the growing popularity of Snapchat then to raise her own profile.
Her profile was one of the most followed, attracting views of over 22,000 daily for months.
With Snapchat, Bobrisky became well known in the public space and this shows the power of social media marketing.
In the year 2016, Bobrisky was the most searched individual from 26th October to November as disclosed by Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade of Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa.
She was able to build a massive following around her very controversial figure. Many of them love her, many dislike her but still they want to be updated with her every move.
Her mystery bae whose real identity she is yet to reveal is another reason many follow her every move. This mystery bae spoils her silly. He once allegedly bought her a Benz and also gave her a cash gift of N7 million.
Bobrisky claims her bae is the 4th richest man in Africa and he has plans to buy a house for her close to Linda IIkeji’s house in Banana Island.
Not quite a few people were alarmed when old pictures of Bobrisky when she was still her natural dark skinned self surfaced. It is a sharp contrast to the almost “white” Bobrisky we know.
Her transformation is another marketing strategy. Currently, Bobrisky is making her mark in the beauty industry.
She has successfully transformed her hitherto dark skin to light as a result of her usage of bleaching products. She aims to grow her skincare businesses to rival to Dencia’s Whitenicious.
Net Worth And Assets
Early 2017, news broke that Bobrisky had bought a house in the Lekki peninsula are of Lagos. The spreading edifice is a five-bedroom duplex. A housewarming party was held by Bobrisky which had some popular faces in attendance.
Bobrisky then took to her preferred social media platform Snapchat, to show off different sections of the house. According to her, N12 million was spent to decorate and furnish the house.
Some put Bobrisky’s net worth to be around $250,000 but her actual net worth is unknown. She once boasted that her two active bank accounts held N40 million and that she’s still hustling to become a billionaire before she clocked 30.
Surely she’s not giving up on this dream as she recently landed an endorsement deal and a first Nollywood movie role.
Rumours are strife that Bobrisky is gay but she seems unbothered by rumors and side talks, as she wastes no time firing back at critics.
According to her, so far she’s counting millions and helping people, paying tithes to the Lord, she’s completely fine. She is a fashionista who likes to chat dirty and post raunchy kinds of stuff so she is not one to shy away from controversy.
In fact she thrives on them and like a cat with 9 lives, she comes back stronger each time. A major controversy Bobrisky was involved in was her admission to being gay publicly.
This is against the law of the land and she was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command at Lekki shortly after. Her arrest led to apprehension in the public sphere but it soon emerged that her arrest had nothing to do with the comments she made.
A rival, Toyin Lawani had petitioned the police and this formed the basis of the arrest of Bobrisky.
No doubt one of the most controversial personalities in Nigeria, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju popularly known as Bobrisky is one character that shows just how much one can achieve with expert usage of social media. Hate her or like her, Bobrisky is living her life!
