Akungba bleeds.

The residents of Akungba, Ondo state mourn as cement truck collided with a Hillux, crushing students, traders amongst others to death.

The famous Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba main gate is known for the numerous deaths as the road is too narrow and all manner of vehicles in different sizes ply the road recklessly.

The people of Akungba have repeatedly called upon Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to look into reconstruction of the road to avert future calamities like this, as this is the seventh time in two months that this is happening in Akungba.

News has it that over thirty lives were lost in the sad incident, including students who only recently resumed school after losing a whole academic year to the pandemic and ASUU strike. Nigerians offer their condolences to the families of the deceased and hope that the government does something to curtail such occurrence in future.

All over social media, friends post their friends who lost their lives in the sad incident and this deepens the hurt in everyone’s heart.

Our prayers are with the families of the deceased, and we hope that the government looks into this issue, as the lives of Nigerians are important.
